Crowd Watching Curling

Tonight's loss by Wisconsin and win by Minnesota gives us a tie breaker to see which team goes on the the semi-finals. The tie breaker will be at 10 AM Friday, with the semi-final at 4 PM. Arizona, Connecticut, and North Dakota 2 are all on to the final four.

Wisconsin Shot

The top of the standings got a bit crowded today with some exciting shots to finish a few games. Wisconsin made an in-off their own stone to sit three and cement a win, while Alaska made a great tap through a port to force North Dakota 2 to throw a great draw of their own to prevent an extra end. Nice brushing on both shots!

Pictures have returned today with some from draw 10 available here.

Another great day of curling. It's wonderful to see so many people new to curling stop by to watch a match or two. If you're in the area come by and see live curling for yourself. It's just $5 for a game and plenty of experienced curlers are around who would love to talk about curling with you.

After today's draws we no longer have any undefeated teams. Arizona and Connecticut are now at the top of the leader board. We've added a chart of head-to-head matchup results to compliment the standings.

Lastly, no new pictures from today, but some links to video from the opening ceremonies:

Happy St. Patrick's Day! We had record crowds for a Monday night draw tonight, thanks in part to the green beer on tap. Detroit Curling Club members made a colorful and lively showing, as well as undefeated North Dakota 2.

Also today we added a fanmail email address so you can send a message to the teams here in Detroit. As usual, pictures continue to be added to Flickr. Photos from draw 6 are here.

Minnesota and Arizona - Draw 3

We're all done with day two leaving only two undefeated teams. Don't miss the live line scores for draw 5 and 6 tomorrow.

There's been a slight scheduling change with plans to hold the 3-4 Bronze Medal final at 10 AM on Saturday instead of simultaneous with the 1-2 Gold Medal final.

Some pictures from the 3rd draw have been added to Flickr.
